Wine-splaining moment: Monastrell is just the Spanish word for Mourvedre. So this wine is made with the same varietals in the same proportions as the great wines from Chateauneuf-du-Pape.

One difference? Spanish Monastrell is thought to be less tannic than French Mourvedre. So if you love CNDP but tire of the grippy tannins, this could be perfect for you.

And it is silky smooth. Aged in French Allier oak barrels for a minimum of 14 months, rounding everything out into a juicy, powerful, balanced masterpiece.
