Brunello is the king of Tuscan wine.

I won't hear anything to the contrary. It's so iconic, it has actually forced a split of the Sangiovese grape. Centuries of only using the same vitis vinifera have caused an offshoot of the varietal - Sangiovese Grosso.

It, quite literally, stands alone in the world of Tuscan wine. Typically aged to the hilt, it's a heady blend of red fruit, oak, and tertiary leather notes. It's been known to age 30-40 years without breaking a sweat, because of the high tannin and acidity.

This is a real traditional number from a family run estate. A Tuscan treasure, if you will.
