Vouvray (and by extension the Loire) is the spiritual home of Chenin Blanc.

Compared to South African Chenin, Vouvray is more mineral, flinty, earthy...you get the idea.

This is absolutely the case with Les Charmes, harvested from vines rooted in clay, limestone and some hints of flint.

The estate was founded in 1973 by Christiane and Alain Robert, starting with a measly 5 acres - but impeccable management and critical acclaim has seen that grow to 91 acres today.
