At the start of the 20th century, Gattinara was one of the most prestigious Italian winemaking regions - more famous than Barolo!

But it was devastated by phylloxera, and a few fallow vintages left it completely forgotten.

For the next century, this tiny Piemontese commune continued to work hard on its craft, putting out balanced, impeccably made Nebbiolo.

One of the most striking features of Travaglini wines is their distinctive bottle. It is specially shaped to fit the hand, and the dark glass prevents light from entering the bottle, heightening the quality of the wine over time. This Gattinara is their trademark wine, typifying the region of Gattinara with its bold, delicious profile.
