Deep in the heart of Abruzzo is a mountain called Amaro. On the hike up, you'll find a huge rock slab carved with hundreds of years' of hikers musings.
It's called Tavola dei Briganti, or the Brigand's Table.
The winemakers at Casalbordino look to the Brigand's Table as everything that's great about winemaking in Abruzzo.
You have to break laws, and you have to learn from what people have left before you.
And at the end, you hope to have something juicy and delicious enough to slam down on the Brigand's Table.
Aged in small oak barriques for 6 months to round everything off perfectly.
Big bold Tuscan. Well made and robust. A pleasure to drink now.
