Luciano Sandrone, the son of a carpenter, threw all his eggs in one basket when he bought a tiny vineyard in Barolo.

A clear talent and vision set him head and shoulders above the competition, and now his wines go for hundreds per bottle.

Thank God, there are more affordable wines in the range so we can all partake in his genius. From the top of the range to the bottom, his wines deliver - you can see that from the critic ratings.

Shoot me - but I sometimes think Barbera is better than Barolo. This is one of those wines that supports the theory - juicy, friendly, crackling with energy - smackingly good.
