I've NEVER been let down by a wine with a 4.4 Vivino score. Better yet, there's almost 7,000 ratings on this bad boy.
And it's definitely a bad boy. Aged 18 months in whisky barrels, it's fatty, soft, luxurious. OK, to be fair, that's maybe not how you'd describe a bad boy.
Lovers of deep red wine need to give this a shot. Whisky sounds scary, but the effect is so subtle. Rich, complex, multidimensional - this wine will stop you in your tracks.
If this wine hailed from Rioja I guarantee it'd be worth >£60.

Just opened this as I was told by my cellar app that it is in decline. Oh my. Not sure where to start. The darkness belies its soft, structured palate. I haven’t fully worked it out yet - but there won’t be any left at bedtime that’s for sure.
Velvety smooth. Good body but not too heavy. Very easy drinker
So full bodied & smooth washed done a chilli con carne mighty fine
