Rodriguez y Sanzo, El Quinto Paraje Verdejo, 2023

Oaked Verdejo is a fabulous alternative to Sancerre; dry, herbaceous, oaky.

Indeed, El Quinto Paraje has been described as ‘Sancerre with added sunshine’, because it adds tropical fruit into the mix.

But there's something more here too! 6 months in French oak, with added battonage, brings a creamy and vanilla texture on top of everything else.

Come to think of it - this shouldn't be compared with Sancerre - it's a category unto its own!
