When I heard this story, I couldn’t quite believe it.

In the 1950s, intrepid wine explorer Remigio Bordini was rummaging through abandoned vineyards near Padua.

He found a grape the world had never seen before. A mysterious cross between Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. He called it Caberlot.

Over decades, this grape was nurtured into a vine, and then a vineyard. I shit you not, Carnasciale are the only winemakers to use this grape. In the world.

So I could talk about the immense critic ratings and the 22 months’ oak ageing...
