Patz and Hall, Pinot Noir Hyde Vineyard, 2018

Patz & Hall was founded in 1988 by four talented individuals: Donald Patz, James Hall, Anne Moses, and Heather Patz. Together, they turned Patz & Hall into one of California’s most highly regarded wineries with a celebrated portfolio of single-vineyard wines.

They found fame with the Burgundian varieties: Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. However, they don't try to merely ape Burgundy - but are unashamed of the Californian origin.

From a winemaking perspective, they throw the kitchen sink at the wine. Long periods in American oak, lots of skin extraction, and bottle maturation.

The result is a much more powerful Pinot Noir than you're probably used to!
