A few days ago we dropped Riscal Reserva - a legendary wine for sure - but perhaps a little expensive?
This is from the same vineyard - but it's a Crianza, not a Reserva. That means it's spent a little less time in oak.
That brings down the price a little, and brings UP the fruitiness. You get a purer expression of the grape, with just a touch of that vanilla oakiness we love on our premium Riojas.
2019 was noted to be an age-worthy vintage in the region, so you're getting double bubble in terms of value for money.
