Personal bias here - but I love it when I see a top chef on the winemaking team.

Guzman runs the regions best restaurant, and crafts the wines so they match up to his world-beating cuisine. He's famous for rich, mountain dishes, and the wines have to be bold to avoid being trampled upon.

This is custom made for that purpose. Just half a hectare of a high altitude vineyard plays host to this extraordinary fruit. Due to the altitude and infertility of the soil, the grapes ripen super slowly (which is GOOD by the way).

That's before it moves house to small French oak barrels. 7 months later, it pops out as a balanced, powerful, experimental Garnacha which is quite literally *chef's kiss*

Tim Atkin does not give out many scores over 96. This is a rarity.
