The story of the winemaking family was started over 50 years back by the grandfather of the current owner. Following the footsteps of father, Santo Pellegrino, and traditions of his grandfather, today, Luigi is the don of La Ciarliana.

When I was tasting his wines, I had the impression I had no other choice but to love the wines - such was the intensity of his glare.

But luckily, they are exceptional.

Vigna Scianello is La Ciarliana's most stunning vineyard. Four and a half hectares of vineyard, four different kinds of soil: Tuff, Clay, Marlstone and Red Soil. The Tuff gives complexity to the wine, the clay produces acidity and freshness, the marlstone smoothness, the red soil salinity.
