Nuits St Georges are some of my favourite Burgundy Pinot Noirs.
Sometimes I find it a little thin & light bodied. Nuits St Georges are renowned for their robust structure, and deep, earthy aromas.
True to form, Jospeh Drouhin comes through with a typical expression of the terroir. Grapes are meticulously harvested by hand, and plenty of maceration and punching down gives the wine plenty of tannin, texture, and flavour.
Aged in small oak for 16 months - but tasted throughout to ensure ageing is having the desired effect. As soon as it's 'just so', the wine is pulled out to finish ageing in the bottle.
