For anyone studying for a Master of Wine, wines of 100% Garnacha are a gimme in a blind taste test.

They are characteristically fruity, a tiny bit confected, with a beautiful sizzle of spice. Personally, I love drinking wines that FEEL and TASTE distinct from the flood of Cab Sav and Merlot...

This is a very cool example. Jose Pariente is ordinarily a white wine producer, but after crafting Los Confines, it opened the door to a range of award winning, critic wowing Garnacha wines. Aged in oak for that special extra something.
