Jean Claude Mas is the visionary driving force behind Domaines Paul Mas, a pioneering family estate in the Languedoc that champions the region's potential for high-quality, authentic vins de terroir. Dubbed the "Rural Luxury" movement, Mas combines centuries of family viticultural heritage with a modern, consumer-focused sensibility, proving that the sun-drenched south can produce wines of genuine elegance.
This Reserve Chardonnay is born from select parcels across the Languedoc, specifically vineyards designated 'Les Grès'—a reference to the stony, heat-retaining sandstone and limestone soils that force the vines to dig deep. The 2024 vintage, marked by a textbook growing season with ideal ripeness and balanced acidity, has yielded a wine of exceptional poise and structure, delivering a rich yet vibrant expression of sun-drenched Chardonnay.
Really liked it
Fruity little number. Starts off apples and citrus, then gives way to ripe pineapple with an oaky hint. Very pleasant, easy to drink. May require Gaviscon later, but willing to take the risk.
A buttery, smooth white
Very drinkable, not over oaked like some Chardonnay..
