There is an exclusive club of winemakers.

Not the mile high club...that's something different. But there are VERY few vineyards that exist over 1600m. Near the top of the list, you've got Bodega Colomé weighing in at 2,300m.

But just below, at 1,800m, is Ixsir of Lebanon.

Ranging from the areas of Batroun to Jezzine, the vineyards of Ixsir are surrounded by scenic mountains all around. Diverse soil types (clay, lime, and calcareous) along with the microclimate of the place makes it ideal for growing grapes that are known for their richness, complexity, elegance and purity.

The vineyards of Ixsir are spread across the entire area of Lebanon from north to south. Close to 250 families participate in the vine cultivation process here.
