If you appreciate the linear focus and flinty minerality of a classic Chablis, you will find the Il Poggio Fiano fascinating.
While both wines are celebrated for their purity and unoaked style, they offer different expressions of their terroir. Where Chablis gets its signature oyster-shell and chalky character from the limestone soils of Burgundy, this Fiano draws a warmer, stony minerality from the volcanic hills of Sannio.
Expect a wine with a similar crispness but a richer, more textural body and a unique aromatic profile of stone fruit and nuts, rather than Chablis' characteristic green apple and flint.
Quite rich for quaffing but great with food
