This 19th century estate was acquired by the Delon family in 1997 and underwent a major restructuring, bringing Château Nénin to the top of high-quality Pomerol.
According to the Delon family, proprietors of Chateau Nenin, this is "the expression of a great Pomerol meant to age".
They weren't kidding. We're now 13 years into the journey and this is still approaching its zenith. Lots of primary fruit notes, but the rumblings of a tertiary storm of dark, broody flavours.
Situated on the plateau of Pomerol, the vineyard of Château Nénin covers an area of 32 hectares, 8 of which are dedicated to the estate’s Grand Vin. The vines are planted on a mosaic of soils composed of clay, silica gravel, quartz, granite, basalt pebbles and iron ore.
