If you're a fan of big, full-bodied, fruit-forward wines, then look no further the Californian Zinfandel.

Zinfandel (or Primitivo in Europe) is notorious for uneven ripening. That means whole bunches are left on the vine to ensure full ripeness across all the berries. You end up with some EXTREMELY ripe berries in the mix.

That's why Zin is famous for its jammy, smoky, slightly sweet flavours that are normally rounded off with long periods in oak.

Definitely not for everyone - but it definitely is for me 😉
