It's not always that wine tasting and winemaking skills go hand in hand. A good taster does not always make a good maker, and vice versa.
When legendary taster Pierre Martin went into the winemaking game, everyone was curious as to how it was going to turn out.
The answer? Pretty darn good.
Located in the heart of Sancerre , the 17 hectares of Domaine Martin are located mainly around Chavignol , a small wine-growing village also famous for its cheese, crottin de Chavignol . Worked in a traditional way, some of the estate's terroirs are already world-famous, such as Monts Damnés and Le Cul de Beaujeu.
Hand harvested Sauvignon grapes and barrel fermentation with some ageing on the lees.
