I love Savigny les Beaune. Admittedly, it's not very often I can afford this style, but when I do - marvellous.

It's a Burgundian Pinot Noir which is unusually powerful full and rich, deep in colour and with notes of red and black fruits, violet and spice.

You know what else I love? Jean Guiton. He exclusively produces Pinot Noir red wine, and is expert at ripening and extracting the notoriously tricky varietal.

No fancy stuff - just experienced winemaking at a great price.
