Domain Faiveley is only interested in owning the best parcels of Burgundy.
Of the 120 hectares they look after, 12 are Grand Cru and 25 are Premier Cru. Spread across the Cote de Beaune and Cote Challonaise, it's a fair bet that their regional Bourgogne wine comes with some SERIOUS value for money credentials.
And my hopes are confirmed - right from the nose, you see this is not your average Pinot Noir. Earthy, fruity, funky, it's up there with wines MUCH more expensive.
Not surprising given it's been treated in much the same way. Hand harvested, aged in French oak for 18 months. What a beauty.
