Domaine Bertier, Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon, 2018

I’d like to say ‘cheap and cheerful’ - but that’s not right. But it's is still a lot of money in this day & age, and this wine delivers every penny.

You might ask 'why no critic ratings'? I've got a few theories.

The first is that getting ratings is expensive - to apply for a Decanter rating is about £500 per label.

Second, critics are influenced by price. They are more likely to give you an average score if you come in below £8.

Average this most certainly isn't! Lovely blend from a respectable chateau.
