The legendary Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (DRC for short) produces the world's most valuable wines, just down the road from here. Little known fact - they've been biodynamic since the 80s.
Aurélien’s father and patron of Domaine Verdet was a pioneer of the biodynamic movement in Burgundy in the 60s. A cool 20 years before DRC.
Aurélien remains an instinctive and rule-breaking winemaker. He says nothing is done by rote. Everything is done by feel, by taste, by intuition, by the phases of the moon and as the wines from each parcel and from each vintage demand.
From what we know of the process, we were absolutely astounded at the price. Their only other importer, Lay & Wheeler, have been banging on about Domaine Aurelien Verdet for years now.
We decided to listen... will you?
