Winemaker Morné Vrey took his learning VERY seriously. He cut his teeth on harvests in France, Germany, and New Zealand, before returning South Africa.

All of that Old World/New World learning has been channeled into his Botsmankop, named after the mountain which Delaire is situated on.

The altitude and mountain pass breeze makes for a long, gentle ripening season, resulting in ethereal wines with excellent acidity. This results in a style far more reminiscent of the best of Left Bank Bordeaux, than the bold fruity styles we see in the New World.

Matured for approximately 14 months in French oak barrels this red wine is powerful, yet elegant and polished.
