Why? Because they are the kings of Californian Sab Sav.

And how did they do that? By sitting on the best land for growing wine in the whole damn country.

The 2018 DAOU Estate Soul of a Lion is the kind of awe-inspiring, age-worthy Cabernet Sauvignon that Georges and Daniel envisioned when they first began plotting out DAOU Mountain.

And what a mountain it is. A high altitude micro-climate akin to St Helena, with the calcerous clay soils of Bordeaux’s right bank; it’s a terroir built for Cabernet Sauvignon.

A cool growing season, this exceptionally rare Cabernet has a layered bouquet, beautiful textures, and balanced acidity.

The nose opens slowly, segueing from graphite and tobacco leaves, to violets and blue fruit preserves. The palate is seamless as cashmere.

A wine of inimitable craftsmanship, it drinks well now but will age gracefully for 30+ years.
