At the zenith of Amarone production sits Romano Dal Forno - a man known for his attention to detail and uncompromising approach to quality.

This Valpolicella Superiore would put many Amarones to shame, and is also made from dried grapes although they are dried for less time than for his Amarone.

Layers upon layers of umami, spicy, black fruit, mocha notes. A huge, dominant wine which will sing over anything you serve at Christmas...like the loud uncle you can't shut up.

The benchmark here is a bit of an outlier, most prices sit between £230 and 300.
