This deserves more time in the bottle - already fantastic, we're looking at a 99 pointer if you let it mature a bit.

Lying in the south of Saint-Estèphe, Château Lafon-Rochet lies just across the way from Pauillac's Lafite. The clay soils of Saint-Estèphe are renowned for producing firm clarets that age extremely well.

This 2020 vintage celebrates the sixtieth anniversary of the acquisition of Château Lafon-Rochet by Guy Tesseron, and it seems he rolled out the big guns for his Diamond Anniversary.

A true Legend Label in the fabled land of St Estephe.

FYI - this benchmark is a bit of an outlier. This wine tends to sell in bond for around £40. It's a great vintage so we'll see where the value of this wine ends up.
