It's WONDERFUL when you're writing about a wine you can get your teeth stuck into.

Weird winemaking practices, an eccentric owner, an unusual region. It all helps.

Writing about small producers in Burgundy though...it's hell. They don't give a toss about their story, brand, or marketing.

If you ask them what's special about the wine, they'll day 'bof, c'est Macon, je sais pas'.

But IT IS SPECIAL. It's delicious. It's predictable. It hits the freaking spot.

I just wish they'd help me out with something tasty for the description...
