Caro (Catena and Rothschild), Caro, 2020

The partnership between barons de Rothschild Lafite and Catena family started in 1999. It was a mission to combine Lafite's arcane knowledge of Cab Sav with the Uco Valley's legendary Malbec status.

The first vintage was released in 2000 to widespread acclaim - finally a wine that scored a balance between the Bordeaux style and the Argentinian identity.

The terroir is magnificent for both grape varieties. High altitude, tons of sunlight, steady breeze, and wild diurnal temperature range.

The result is a rich and complex wine that boasts intense flavors of red berries, black cherry, and hints of chocolate. The wine has a long and silky finish that makes it a perfect match for red meats, rich stews, and other hearty dishes.
