Pinot Noir is the only red variety that reliably flourishes in Marlborough’s cool climate.

And boy does it flourish for the award-winning Astrolabe. Year after year this gets consistent top marks from industry giants.

The clay soil mixed with the slow ripening gives nice fruit weight and density, tempered with a floral profile and mineral structure.

The head winemaker, Simon, carefully chooses tight-grain French oak with *just the right amount* of char to bring the smoky oak flavour that rounds it all off.
