This Saint-Émilion Grand Cru is what happens when Bordeaux's Right Bank masters decide to make an accessible wine then realise "accessible" still means "premium investment."
The grapes are a Merlot-dominant blend, grown on slopes that catch the perfect light, ensuring the fruit is plush and potent. The 2022 vintage was a dramatic, hot year, forcing winemakers to channel their inner zen masters, resulting in a generous but controlled wine.
This is a complex, terroir-driven expression that demands respect (and a proper decanter). It’s so elegant, you'll feel like you should be wearing a tuxedo just to open the screwcap (it's a cork, don't worry).
Dark and velvety, smooth and silky
Exquisite, left it to breathe for an hour before drinking and it opened up beautifully.
Enjoyed this but too young really, give it another 5 .
Its good however unless bottle ageing improves the wine substantially, it is trading on parents brand
