Côtes de Bourg is an appellation first founded by the Romans, making them some of the oldest vineyards in the world. It's prime wine-growing territory, nestled between the Dordogne and Garrone rivers.
The majority of the wines produced in this AOC are red wines with good ageing potential - typically 'Bordeaux blends' comprising of Merlot, Cab Sav, and Cab Franc.
It's sometimes passed over, since there aren't many MASSIVE names in the region. However, look at it on a map and you'll see why we rate the region so highly - tucked between Blaye and Margaux.
This is typical to the area - a deep, generous, savoury red.

Underwhelming. Not bad, but not worth getting again.
Average at best, ok drinkable but I'm opening something else so wouldn't buy again!
Nice but not as good as hoped but good at £13
