Jancis Robinson once tasted 18 NV Champagnes blind. She ranked Billecart-Salmon top. Krug came in behind it. Forty percent Meunier, 30 months on lees, half the blend from reserve wines going back years. All sounds very technical, until you taste it... and then it just sounds right. I've always thought this is the smartest buy in Champagne. 4.2 on Vivino, and the trade charges well over fifty quid.
